With a record temperature of 109 degrees expected today in Austin, colleagues in the Statesman Media advertising department spent time this morning assembling care packages to distribute to the city’s homeless. The team built two different kits, one filled with water, snacks, bandanas; and the other  complete with water, dish, dog food, and biscuits for the homeless who are accompanied by their dogs. The care packages are ready for colleagues to distribute as they leave to make sales calls, or attend to other matters that require the use of their automobiles.
